nevertheless a great movie, and by the way this is like you say every boxing match is a remix cause they are using the same punches, it's pointless...

What makes watching movies extra enjoyable is detecting small references, hommages and similarities. If they don't overuse it, it's great!

I think some people took this far too seriously and over exaggerate with their comments. It can clearly be seen that this movie was heavily influenced by other movies, and that is not a bad thing. No movie nowadays are original. Everything has been influenced and all our ideas are fabrications or modifications of other ideas. Its how you present it that makes it unique or seem original.

Its not a coincidence that scenes look familiar in The Matrix, Ghost in the Shell (Anime) and Akira (Anime). Infact, you will see a lot more movies lately being influenced by Japanese Anime. Most lately Black Swan was very heavily influenced by the brilliant anime, Perfect Blue.

I like the reference he did when Neo woke up after sleeping and then took for granted it was from that anime movie and not any other movie in the world where they have recorded someone waking up.

...and now newer movies are copying the matrix. So the cycle continues. Not a lot of original ideas anymore :(

#17 As you think the editor didn't get the movie, you clearly didn't get the point of this film. It's about how ideas, themes and symbols permeate throughout time. The story is included in this, many parts of the Matrix plot (if not all) are gleaned from other sources. Watch the Everything is a Remix series, and you'll understand it better. ref #19 comment.
