Ok since the site upgrade, videos are nicer looking and all, but it's freaking slow...
I use a 6 Mbit DSL line and I can't even stream the vids correctly... For every minute of video, I have to buffer 30-40 seconds. This is insane... I know 6 Mbit isn't that fast, but I can still stream 720p on youtube, and buffer far less on youtube for the best looking 1080p vids, compared to here for barely HD vids.
What's wrong...?
p.s. In addition, when I use my Ipod touch, I'm forced to use the mobile site because the Iphone app (which I upgraded to latest version), takes at least a full minute (and more), to actually START the buffering process...

#2 difference is that youtube got thousands of servers with unlimited bandwith..snotr aint that big, so when thousands of people watch videos here (plus videos got bigger in size due to raised quality) we get a little "traffic jam" =) ..but it will be sure become better by time. And its only a few people that experience that slow buffering. I said that in a few comments before..my connection at home is way slower than yours and i never had any buffer issues.

And what about stunts, action sequences and choreography in film and tv #6? It's called a showreel for a reason you know!

#2 this video needed ~5 seconds to start playing on my iphone with a 4Mbit connection... (~500KB/s)
also, the spinning wheel -is- the buffering process. if you activate "autoplay" in the settings the video will start playing as soon as the play button appears, because then it's buffered and ready to play. all videos are usually encoded with ~1000kbps so you need at least a download speed of 125 KB/s (1 Mbit) to avoid stuttering. i didn't experience any lag either, but it's possible.
