Jamais Vu happens all the time when something is repeated, people wearing glasses, very annoying if the ears, eyes and nose constantly remind the brain about them so you can't free your mind on other things. Therefore, you 'forget' the pressure...

#4 Isn't it more likely that you just adapt to it?
E.g., smell: if you are exposed to a certain smell over a longer period of time, you get adapted to it. So the smell isn't as intense as it was initially.
But one can always say that there are two sides of a coin, I guess.
