Hanoi traffic

A view at an intersection in Hanoi, Vietnam. This is said to be only a small and quiet intersection, but it still looks like there are no traffic rules.

I'am from vietnam and been there, There really isn't any traffic rules people are just use to dodging each other and the horn honking is how they communicate. Also if you drive too fast you'll be caught by the cops there is a speed limit, I was caught and gave the cop 5-10 bucks and easily, pretty corrupt system

I am not surprised. This kind of traffic was also driven by VC in Ho Chi Minh trail. Ha HA HA

doesn't seem like a big deal to me. I didn't see anyone get hurt, and the only close calls were people who seemed to be going a little too fast in tight spots. If you're going slow enough, you're good to go. right on for the Vietnamese, keep traffic moving!

... and here in north america, we get told what to do with traffic lights and still manage to get accidents with 2 cars on a red light... then they say technology doesn't numb our minds :P

like noobeater said, anarchy works, because it involves that everybody thinks at least a minimum

Reminds me of the experiment going on somewhere in the Nordic countries where they have eliminated all traffic lanes, signals, and signs. The results have shown reduced traffic problems, and surprisingly, more courtesy.

Might be something to this anarchy thing after all....

The throughput is greater than with traffic lights :)

It is saver then trafficlights. Some people hit the gass to the metal when the lights turn green. not looking at if someone is close or missing the red light

The accidents happening are slow speed,

That's a small intersection. See one with 8 ways. Also in VN
