This isn't the story about sushi at all, it's a story of all consumable oceanic animal products, I was kinda hoping to get a historical glimpse at how they started making sushi back in the ancient days. Great video nevertheless though, both shows the seriousness in our fishing situation right now and hope for the future just the same.

It's not corporate greed, it's plain ol' human nature. When have men not operated under their own selfish interests? The difference is that now we are so many that we are having an exponentially damaging effect on the planet.
We are doomed, unless you can change human nature by eliminating that pesky self-interest motive.

Regulations cost money to issue, maintain and follow. Therefore seafood prices will go up. Fishing on regulated areas will make the catch smaller. Which also bring the seafood price up.
The real best solution would probably be fish farming and breeding. That way you can let the environment produce whatever it wants while people produce what they need.

The only reason they trow away fish is, the are not allowed to sell t. If all fish was allowed to sell or eat, nothing was waisted.

And we are to believe this why?
While I'm sure that this is loosely base upon some facts, it is nothing but a short film with an agenda.
Sometimes we all need to step back, take a breath, do a little research, re-engage our brains, think for ourselves, put agendas aside, before jumping to knee jerk reactions, because by now we all must be smart enough to realize "Just because it's on the Internet does NOT mean it's true"
P.S.
What a waste of 7 months

Genesis 1 reminds the : "...to be the master of all life upon the earth and in the skies and in the seas...multiply and fill the earth and subdue it; you are the masters of the fish and birds and all the animals."
As for the , perhaps improved "fish farming" practices will suffice:

Yet, "soylent green is made out of people...you gotta tell 'em, soylent green is people!" works too.

Sadly, the common sense spoken in this video will never be heard by governments around the world.
