So where's the lesson in this? Looks like the dog just follows its natural instinct. AFAIK all regular dogs can swim naturally.

#2 I am a firm believer in just throwing them in at the deep end , there natural swimmers. My dog was a little pussy the first few times but once you throw there most loved toy 30ft out in the water after some yelps and barks he went straight in for it and loved it , now I cant get him out of the lake!!.
This dog is just too pamperd and dolled up and over loved , a life jacket ??? New born babies can swim straight away, they spend bloody 9months in fluid ....its air that makes them cry for the first time

Mastiffs are not water dogs by nature or breeding like Labs and Newfoundlands and because of their solid body weight they do not float very well, but they are certainly capable of swimming and many take to it with enthusiasm. Encouraging one to swim like this guy is doing will make for good exercise for his pet.
His pool filter will need more attention if the mastiff likes to get wet.
