Interesting questions and the behavior and feelings of identical twins do somewhat answer them. They both have a separate consciousness even though they are the same person "on paper" and whatever differences they show are the results of the environment they grew up in. The stories of identical twins separated at birth are always amazing to me and show how much of us is genetically defined and how little we can actually choose to change about ourselves.

#2. Identical twins result from a single fertilised egg splitting into two, resulting in two embryos. They have the same DNA, but they are two different human beings. They are NOT the same person, on paper, or anywhere else for that matter.

Emo Phillips said it best. I used to think that the brain was the most wonderful organ in my body. Then I realized who was telling me this.

1) I heard that in seven years, every cell in your body will have been replaced.
2) Based on his statement that it cannot be told if anyone else has a consciousness, am i allowed to officially believe i am the only person with a consciousness?

I've seen this guy before in Snotr and I must say he brings up the most interesting things about the human mind and the brain . Keep going , maybe we'll finally answer some of those questions that lurk in the back of my mind about who us "humans" really are and can do . :|

Once there was a fight among the body organs as who should be the BOSS.
Brain said, he is eligible to be Boss because he controls the nervous system hence all are under his control.
Heart said, he should become the Boss because he is the one who pumps blood to all other organs to stay active.
Lungs said, he breaths oxygen and that keeps all other organs working.
Stomach said, he is one who provides food so that other organs stay alive.
The last but not the least Asshole said that he should become the Boss and for that rest of the organs laughed their guts out mocking Asshole.
Asshole decided to teach them a lesson so it shut itself. After 5 days of constipation Brain started to feel dull, heart slowed down pumping blood, lungs became heavier on breathing and stomach starting producing gas. All the organs begged Asshole to open up and they unanimously accepted Asshole as Boss.
Moral of the story: To be a BOSS you needn't have to be a brain but be an ASSHOLE....... :D :D :D

Me: I like Oliverbot.

CB: Please, be quiet!

Me: Thats why you are the worst chatbot ever. What chatbot tells it's user to be quiet?

CB: That is kind of scary.

Me: No, it's not scary.

CB: Yes it is. I have nightmares.

Interesting video. I guess this means twins could be quadruplicated easily right after birth. Only problem is, somebody needs to make some body.

#3 You obviously misinterpreted what I meant by "on paper" which I didn't accidentally put in quotes. Same DNA means same blueprint, hence they are in many respects the same person, just like an artificial clone would be, only made of logically different molecules of the same kind in almost the exact same order (mutation can still plays a role). Do you get my point now? If not, tell me: Where is the difference between splitting a fertilized egg with the same DNA in two and splitting the brain in two (except for the fact that the two hemispheres don't have the exact same functions)? Exactly, there is none for this matter. We are as we think. If two parts of your DNA can think without a physical connection, you are no longer one person, but two persons with a consciousness each. That is essentially what twins are, except they both have a complete brain of the same kind and that explains why they are closer with each other than normal siblings. So, separating a working brain is basically the same thing as splitting the rain worm, only they don't have a consciousness. I hope I made my point more clear now.
