Clarkson (or rather his scriptwriter), might be able to put together an amusing, though rather juvenile TV show, but the man has no political skills whatsoever, and the only brief advantage to him landing the job of Prime Minister might be the immediate abolition of fuel duty and vehicle road tax.

Unfortunately, the resulting colossal drop in government revenue would probably require an increase in the basic rate of Income Tax of 5%. How popular do you think Jeremy would be then? :|
