Damn... if this was me and it was my first time throwing some box of trash like that into that pit and SAW this happening I would $hit myself after watching that thing getting bigger and bigger thinking I caused some kind of chain reaction and the whole mountain was going to explode!

I mean, what would you do if you saw the splashes growing bigger and bigger after a minute.

My guess is that the increase in the size of the eruption is probably a result of the volatilisation of the organic matter within the rubbish. Once it hit's that lava pit, a whole lot of steam, and other effluent, is probably produced causing that layer of crust to pop open with the building pressure. It's pretty spectacular on cam, would love to experience one up close and personal
