Why would someone vote down #1 when he is clearly stating the facts?

vinyl is the full sound when id is recored. Un like digital sampling of a CD that leaves out some of the sound, not a hole lot but some of the sound is missing. Yes Cds are the same every time it is played and should last a long time. I like my vinyl. It makes fell youg still.

#1 as the vid said in the beginning..some DJ's still like to use vinyl. Not everything is better when digitalized..but then again..its a matter of taste. An E-Guitar playing an acustic sound on an amplifier is never as good as a real acoustic guitar either =)

Wow - what an intricate process to make a vinyl record. It's closer to traditional craftmanship than mass production.

I can see why the record companies wanted to make CDs: it saves them a lot of money. Shame when they brought in the CD they charged the same price as for vinyl. But then they shot themselves in the foot: by changing an analog technology to digital they ushered in the mp3 era and now they're moaning that it's too easy to copy and distribute music. Serves them right for being so greedy imo.

Compared to MP3 it is ten times better. most digital copies of a song, are missing out the top, lower and double frequencies, they are perfect to play on a regular cellphone or player, but with high performance speakers you better use vinyl.

If you want to know the different between vinyl and cd's, then watch this link:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Gmex_4hreQ
Vinyl is recorded "full range", CD's are not! But it does not have to be this way...

Maybe you can’t tell the difference on some cheep speakers. But if you, like my, have invested in some quality speakers - then the compression on CD's is horrible :-( The do it to make them seem louder… There is enough space on the compact disk to record the music without mastering.
More info here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loudness_war

If you want to let the music live, and stop the mastering/loudness on CDs - then go to this page: http://turnmeup.org/ - The Loudness War - An Open Letter To The Music Industry.

It is like this, with a music CD all you buy is the binary code to re-recreate the music. When you buy a vinyl record you are actually buying the real sound recording of the music and the voices of those instruments and singers.

At one time when one would go buy vinyl you actually bought something, now you are buying a bunch of 0's and 1's whether it is a CD or MP3 format.

And if your were a serious music collector would you collect something fake or something that is real.

Lots of talk about MP3, I use FLAC, and before someone argues, yes, I hear the difference. Of course the sound in this video is digitalized, so it would be pointless to compare...?

"What sorcery is this?" :D

I still don't get how a simple needle riding through a carving in a vynil slice can produce such complex sounds...

But i also dont get how a magnet can reproduce sounds either.... :S

I call it magic.
