"An unbelivable stroke of luck"? I would more say a very well planned shot.

Unfortunately I think the shot from the boat looked even cooler...

Yeah, good job. Now the seals only need to watch this clip to learn how to avoid sharks.

the exaggerated reactions of the members and overly pompous narration ruin the whole clip. I don't know if scientists really care about how much time a seal has to evade a shark, I don't quite see the scientific relevance in all that.

Cool shot but still, three minutes of almost nothing. I miss old Discovery shows, fun but with real science beneath. Now, with all that Mtv hype and movie trailer voices everything looks like crap. In HD of course ;)

Why does everything on the discovery channel boils down to the eleventh hour of the last day?

#8 Because admitting we got the shot on the first day and then spending the next 4 tossing off doesnt make for as compelling television. Or reasonable claims on an expense sheet. Even if sharks are involved.

The balloon was too high, would have been a better shot closer to the shark or zoom it in!

:D LOL It's a great piece of filming from both angles. OMGosh I wouldn't like one of those chasing after me! Too scary!

Actually it gives another perspective to calculate motions of sharks which in case is not about being cooler, about being handy
