Yes, that was an awesome save of the kid's life.
The walls of the house are indeed sturdy and fireproof. But what is it that's inside the house? That's not furniture burning with that intensity. There must be enormous quantities of flammable material, vats of oil, or rooms full of grease, that could emit such amounts of flame and smoke.

#6 It could be from behind the building, they use less refined petrol for heating and coocking. If a storage catches fire, it is bad indeed.

#6 I was thinking the same. The only guess is the the gas they use for cooking.

Instead of attempting to help, whip out the video camera!

#10 should all people start running to the window? That would cause more chaos then help. People are already helping..and when you cant help..why not film it as long as youre not in their way?

Everything over there is made entirely of brick and cement. What could possibly be burning like that?

The ladder is a type of folding step ladder that can be straightened out and locked to become one long ladder which is narrow in the middle but wide at each end, which makes it more stable.
@ 1:22 you can see the shape. It is like this one.....

I did not see any smoke coming out of that window,so lucky for the child who was not having to breath toxic fumes before being rescued.

If it wasn't for the opening title that could have been quite tense. 8-)

#11 I agree with you, Sizz. There is nothing wrong with filming an occurrence like that. It's documentation that could be interesting and valuable later. :)
