#2 trust me they are no irrelevant, computing algorithms work on predefined path, if they are irrelevant it means you enterred wrong details somewhere. If you (person A) like milk and eggs and another person B likes milk and butter then person C who has in basket eggs is more likely like person A and with increment data inputs from user you get more accurate results. And also there is many more reason why facebook shows you irrelevant stuff (lack of ads, missing values, lack of data or wrong data)
I am currently working on suggestion system that should increase sells by collecting user data but you have a point that facebook has millions of users and their suggestion(ads) system should work very well as they have a lot of information to use for data mining not like me

That's why I use random search terms now and then. using google to search for puppies, little cat's roof building. while I never intend to need those things. Search some rand0m stuff in the search engines, and they get confused.

#7 the keyword you are looking for is data mining. It's basically glorified statistics, throwing all the parameters in, looking for correlations and separating the data into clusters that have something in common. When new data arrives, you just compare with the categories and you get a prediction.

haha - this video is for kids not knowing a thing.. if you are aware just a little bit you realised long time ago those here is a tip of the iceberg. cookies which never expire, data collection (ur IP shows where are you sitting - ur street address, searches, pages visited, purchases, spying on emails,.. EVERYTHING) - thats norm now. russians officially work on shaping society via internet programs.. guess usa is long ahead of them.
