You all need to grow some balls and exercise your rights, rather than laughing at this, although somewhat misguided, but a brave man. When I read the comments, it's like looking into the minds of Germans in the 1930's - "We're in a free country, the fuhrer says so!" Wake up, tear up the matrix, you pathetic slaves! How can you sleep with the boot stomping your face?

"I'm not doing anything wrong" The camera guy forgot he is inside a building owned by someone else, then other rules apply.

#21: He was inside his own building as I presume the courts, judges and prosecutors are paid by tax payers to service them. It's not "theirs", it's "ours". Yes, he was a bit annoying but just because we got used to a different "normal" when representatives of power are considered above the others including "their" rules and restrictions.

The sad thing is the this jackass will not change and we have to ignore him until he is dead, 70 years from now, unless were lucky and he dies in an accident. Jail - you know what to do.

@sartre, as far as I can see from the video, and the first part of the video which can be found elsewhere, they listened to him and declined that he had a right of filming.
He tried to force his way pass the guards, got pushed back and warned twiced about not going in. The guard showed his stungun, warned him another time to step back, he did not apply, on which the guard choose to shoot him.
How can you say that the guy presented NO physical threat to anyone? Certainly I can't say that for sure he did or did not from the film. Should the elderly guard escalate the situation further and risk getting in a shuffle with the guy, or did the elderly guard do the sensible thing and disarm the situation as fast as possible. I think the guard did the right thing.
I think the better question is why the guy with the camera choose to put himself beyond the rules of society and why he do not think those rules applies to him.

Sure, the guy is a pain in the neck, and most probably wrong in affirming his right to film anywhere - apparently he needed permission, which he didn't have. But to commit violence on him for this is extreme, unjust and an overreaction.
He was never going to be able to enter that room with his camera, he didn't have a weapon, he wasn't threatening to assault anyone. My understanding is that the taser was only to be used to prevent or stop violent behaviour, not to give a functionary a chance to play God. There were other, older, ways of dealing with the situation that would have worked equally well.
I'm saddened, but not surprised, to see so many people getting off on watching one human being injure another.

All over a minor traffic ticket, riding his bicycle at night without a light. What a freakin' moron!
If he would have just left his tinfoil hat at home and gone before the judge, he might have been let off with a warning.
If he did have to pay a fine, there would have been enough change left over from a $100 bill to buy an el cheapo light for his bike. Or maybe buy his mom some gasoline for having to drive his dumb ass to court.
Aw....who am I kidding. He doesn't have a $100 bill and his mother didn't drive him to court. The buses are free in that neck of the woods.
Bail bondsmen on the other hand....well....I'm pretty sure he had to stay in the cooler until his hearing took place.
I hope he had a whole new outlook on life when he went before the judge. If it turned out that he is actually stupid enough to parlay a bicycle infraction into a stretch in the state penitentiary, I have to ask this question; will it be Robert Peterson “The Person” or Robert “The Man” being passed around like a bag of chips while they're both in prison.

To all saying this guy did not deserve to be tazed and cameras are OK in the courtroom.
1. Camera's are allowed in the courtroom, you simply need permission ahead of time from the court - Cameraman did NOT follow this rule.
2. He was warned he would not be allowed to enter w/ the camera on and attempted to enter anyway
3. He was given warning to step back prior to being tazed
4. Look on the internet and watch the entire video (#9 posted it) of this guy's experience. He was openly defiant from the beginning.
5. He is speaking in circles, at one point saying he isn't going to enter the room and then doubling back on himself to say he was going to enter the room.
Bottom line, he got what he deserved. There are far better ways to approach the situation than what he did. He thinks he is outside of the law with all his double talk "I'm not a person, I'm a man garbage".

This individual is a cancer in our society.
He seeks to intimidate citizens just doing their jobs. Citizens whose lives are often on the line. For all they know he may be a terrorist filming the inside of a courthouse to plan an attack on the building - or the staff.
There are rules for a reason. Security staff should be free from being filmed and having their details and face put on facebook, for punks to intimidate, harass or threaten their lives or the security of their families.
It is time to form a line against the march of the forces of disorder.

#34 so he deserves being tased (which is a potentially lethal attack, regardless what the people from the tase company do say) for having a different opinion? If he was a threat: why not call the police and have him arrested?

The cameramans comments about "I'm not a person, I'm a man" are from a internet conspiracy belief call "free man on the lamb"
It's based on really bad understanding of federal law and spread around by word of mouth by gullible people who because they don't trust the government won't check out actually law books for the truth because they think there propaganda info. The only info they are told are correct is on these other sites created by these conspiracy enthusiast.
A close friend of mine bought into it and it was impossible to reason with him because the only sources he believed in were the ones on these websites.
It was a very sad situation. He was down on his luck which made him gullible to this and con artist who take advantage of people in his situation.

So you taze someone who is not threatening violence, nor is he physically pushing through you. So it's right to just taze someone who is acting like a dick? Nope.

Hmm, old video, pretty dead thread, but w/e, just found it and wanna throw in my 2 cents..
Robert "The 'boy'" Peterson is obnoxious as all hell, and was asking for exactly what he got. What I find more shocking though is the posts complaining about people being glad he got tazed.. Fuck with the bull, ya get the horns.
Imagine you were one of the other people ALSO in that courtroom. Say it was a custody hearing with many personal details. No matter what it is, its YOUR business. You want some lil punk like this kid to film your hearing? THATS why its not allowed. He wasn't making a stand for his rights, which he would have you believe, he was infringing upon the rights of everyone else there, and being a juvenile jackass in how he went about it.
My money is that he was mad about his ticket, and wanted to be a dick, and THOUGHT he could get away with it because of his inadequate understanding of the constitution and laws. In my eyes, hes not a person OR a man, hes a mere boy with a chip on his shoulder.
And for the record, he DID try to push his way past. That's a show of physical aggression. "They" are there for security, and you know, LAW enforcement. Not a wise move to invade such a persons personal space, ESP when they're on the clock.
