I wonder what act of Congress it took to let them do this.

i wonder why he took the same side of the tunnel on both directions...

He would have taken the same side both directions because they would have cleaned and prepared the road surface before the car could drive on it. But more likely because they had all the cameras on that side how else do you think they got those stationary shots.

Can you imagine the sound that must make in the tunnel? Experiencing the sound of a F1 car in an open space is insane..I can't even imagine how it would sound in a closed area like a tunnel

Set it up so the F1 car could ride through The Chunnel - London to Paris, that would be cool. :)

That sound :) #2 it is saver to take the corner at the inside, a small mistake only causes the car to go to the left a little, not hitting the wall.

I hate to say it but if the car is going so "fast" thought the tunnel who is making the shots of the car at speed ? another drive driving along side at 200kmh ? so close to a F1 worth millions ....Dont think they ever drove it that fast threw there. Who the hell would insure that.

Outdoor itself sound is unbearable and I can imagine in a tunnel, it could be like sitting in a jet turbine...... :D

#9: Dude look at the speed of the car in ALL of the shots when they record around the chassis.
Not more than 70 mph, the environment makes it obvious.
Unless you were not serious?

0:42 You can see the speed changing in the red digits. I can see the last number change into 147, which could be assumed as km/h (~91mph).

In fifth gear they said that the formula car's aerodynamics don't work properly untill >80 kmh. Without the downforce the car could easily spin around.

#6 - There is no road in the Channel tunnel, only train tracks.

#17 - There is a service tunnel that runs in between both tunnels for emergency access and is probably big enough to drive through. If not, it would not be too difficult to lay down something on top of the tracks to create a temporary road surface to drive on.
