luckily everything went well (for the family in the Van).. 32 year old Krzystof T. (Poland) tried to run from Police with a stolen Audi A5. He got a jail sentence of 3 years and 9 months. He was supposed to earn 1500Zloty for this Car "transfer". In Norway the police would keep back from the stolen car to prevent that type of accident.

Is it not better to let the driver get away with the car then risking the life of people in other cars?

#5 #6 Well, cops from Saxony can be savages. Some units from there are notorious neonazi-sympathizers who love a good fight. I experienced Police brutality from a Saxon Squad first hand. Only crime I committed was to own a skateboard.
