A robber with a true evil intention would have just shot that clerck, no use imo in defending your cash register. Your own life is much more valuable then that bit of money or jewelry.

To me it looks like the robber had no intention of killing him. I mean, the clerk was wide open for several seconds; if he really wanted to shoot him he'd be dead.

all true but most robbers don't actually plan to kill you, it just gets them in much more trouble, he may have noticed that and acted on it.

probably the clerk is not at his first robbery and is not afraid of these small thiefs. I think the thief was more scared when he saw the clerk jumping on him and he got stuck without knowing what to do, he was probably screaming somehing like "Give me the jewelry"
anyway the clerk was brave

The gun was probably unloaded, i might be wrong, but it does not look like america. In most countries robbers will not shoot the clerk for the register and some jewlery.

Weapon loaded, real, or not? that is the question. If not, this will be the outcome sometimes. If loaded and real, a far different ending to this little sec-vid. Best option is to consider every weapon as deadly in the hands of a desperate robber. Each successive, successful robbery escalates in violence over time. U.S.A. has world record in career violent 'repeat offenders'. They become more dangerous after each release from jail. Give them the cash and do not say a word. They may kill you without any reason anyway. In response, many law abiding men as well as women in the USA are now trained, CCW certified and armed. (over 4 million). Show any weapon or threat of danger, and those CCW certified people may draw and fire with no warning.
