Why is the world so addicted to money?

#1 Because money is the red line through our society. There are people who live full lives without ever seeing any money. But in our society, money is everything.

The world is not addicted to money. People just incorrectly assume that having it will solve all of their perceived problems. That somehow it will magically make them happy and their lives will be full. But that is just a superficial illusion. When I am gone I would rather people remember me for being a good person and a true friend than for whatever materialistic possessions I did or did not have.

This won't be overheard at my funeral:
"Oh my god Becky, look at him in that casket! He just bought the new iPhone and he's not even getting buried with it!"

#8 the guy probably got sick of being hounded by the seller and media and/or figured that he would get hounded to pay tax on it.

#11 Maybe the buyer picked it up. I think its not that cheap to send a safe the postal way.

#8 That is just the seller CLAIMING there was no money. I think that is called sour grapes. :'( He has no actual knowledge one way or the other.
