i dont agree with treating cops with any more respect than i would treat anybody else in this world i treat all people as equal (as i would wish to be treated myself) i will be totally polite,helpfull and considerate of there position but nobody in this world is greater or any less than myself.
unlike my own personal experience of cops who seem to treat everybody as less than themselves
(with 1 exeption out of many) and revel in the power they have aquired through a job title that needs very little to be gained.
as you say manners and respect will go far...but i believe it goes both ways and it's the cops job to be polite, helpfull and self aware. roll on personality testing!!!
respect can be earned but not demanded...if demanded they get none.
