I think your find that drag cars are rear wheel driven thus if he placed it in 1st gear it would lock up the rear wheels not the front.
Unless this car has a gearbox that lets you switch from 2 to 4 wheel drive . as it has tobe in 2 wheel drive for the tyres burnoff at the start for warming the tyres
