I bet the people at the time that the people who questioned this might have been ridiculed for their lack of "science", and no doubt the "trust us, we're experts" line would have probably come up; No doubt there would have been "studies" to show how effective these things were. Nothings changed in modern mainstream medicine at all Isn't it also really interesting to note that the use of vaccination originated in this same period of time? But "immunisation" is irrefutable science today right?
