He is very lucky! if he wasn't wearing a helmet and protection im sure he would get burned as well as cut from that! also that it didn't hit him directly in the face! it just scraped him

That's got to be the best day of Ron's life. He won, he didn't get hurt, he became famous, and he got a whole new level of appreciation for just being alive. And did I mention that he won? :P

One helluva blower explosion for sure. Glad to see Ron walk away from that.
Amazing that he was able to keep that missile in a straight line. Safety Safari

Gulp....that's a cure for constipation if there was ever one! I'm glad he walked away from that though...but I'd bet his knees wobbled a bit.

Rarely you see these guys so shocked. He must've really thought that he died.

On second look the sudden deceleration might've knocked the wind out of him, or he inhaled fumes (doubt that, these things blow up pretty frequently and the safety is excellent).

#10 It is the concussion of the blower explosion that makes him look disoriented , almost like what a concussion grenade would do to you right in your face. That blast wave is what lifted the top of the body right off the car.

PS John Force won the Funny Car division at that race.
