I'll take recharging over trying to fold the thing and bring a wet unmbrella into a car or anywhere. I hope this works! Imagine not having to put up with a wet umbrella.
I just wonder what it would do in a really heavy rain. Would the air be strong enough to divert heavy rain drops. Sounds like it would work for moderate rain.

Another example of how make us pay for batteries.
Next step: don't buy it we give it to you; all you have to do is to give a small amount of money every month to use it and we will send you another batterie every two years.
We have to stop it or at the end we will all need to subscribe for high tech underwears
I'll stick to the good old classic umbrellas.

But do people standing next to you also appreciate the umbrella? This on a motorbike, blowing the rain 2 feet up. would be awesome.

"Battery life, which is at maximum 30 minutes".
No good for the UK then. Or most of the rest of Europe.

I don't mind getting a little bit wet, so I never felt the need for an umbrella, much less an umbrella that constantly has to be recharged. The good thing about this one is that you don't have to worry about poking someone in the eye with a spoke as you push through a crowd.

You are all being very negative about this. I for one like the idea. It's seldom that you spend more than 30 minutes under a brolly, usually it's a couple of minutes then into a shop, bank or car. I can see that early designs could be quite bulky but imagine it getting down to the width of a walking stick, a bit of cleaver air tech and it won't drench other pedestrians. With a few feet of pole to play with (some of us are just born lucky) I can't see why the battery limitation need to be an issue. It's a yes please from me
