Nothing new there. That's why i always knock on the body of the ATM (hollow plastic vs thick metal sound completely different) and take a long critical look at it before putting my card in :)

@3 Most videos in the awesome category are self-evidently un-awesome. Perhaps this is an indication of the limited life experience of the uploader. :|

I'd like to see how do they install this without alerting everyone.

I'm sure with a little bit of thought the ATM machines could be made in such a way that this sort of thing would be impossible. I thought about this a few weeks ago. All it needs is a series of small holes in the front of every ATM with a random set of pins (not sharp ones)on the other side (think those arty pin things that make a imprint of your hand or face or anything).

The pins on the ATM would be on a rotating plate so that their position would be constantly changing. Then each time a new customer came to use the ATM the disc would change position and a random number of pins would protrude from the unit and would have to be pushed back in by the customer before the transaction would start. If the pins could not protrude due to a false facia the ATM would not work. 8-)

#6 That doesn't mean that the false screen would stop asking for your PIN code after you've placed your card to be scanned. ;)
