Huntsman are not poisonous...
The generally small Red Backs under your toilet seat
are the ones to worry about.

#15 I think i can say this on behalf of most people, i dont care if it's not poisonous, spiders are creepy as f*ck! And I dont care if its not hurting anyone, Ill kill it!

OMG i almost shat my pants just watching this video lol. I could never go that close to a big spider like that!! 
Now i keep thinking there is a spider on me. I thought i'd gotten over my fear until i saw this lol.

All spiders are venomous. It's just a matter of how potent the venom is. A Redback, close cousin to the Black Widow, will produce a very painful bite, but almost never a fatal one.
This guy was not thinking too intelligently. Even if he did manage to get the container around the spider, what was he going to do next? The spider would just climb right out if he brought it down from the ceiling, and I saw no evidence of a lid nearby.

Another lesson learned...listen to your children...they're right most of the times.
I did not understad the part after "Daddy I told you to..." but I think she is right a second time :-)

I've had one of those suckers almost go climb up my arm when opening a window when i was in Sydney.

Wow with that little container!?!? It looks as if the bowl is too small for the span of the spiders legs... and plus its not like its a small spider where u know it wont be able to jump out of it quickly... did you see the spiders reaction?? it was fast... he would also need a lid otherwise it would jump right out...

I own several spiders, but none of them will grow as large as a huntsmen, but they will come close.
#19 when you wanna catch a spider, you do exactly what daddy does in the vid, only that you dont fail as he did. when you have the container against the wall with the spidey inside you carefully insert a piece of paper / cardboard / sheet metal (something flat) from the side to serve as a lid. simple and effective (usually foolproof too )

I live about 100 miles north of Sydney and we get hundreds of these bastards every summer. Usually end up with 3 or 4 in the house during the mating season.
Funny thing, you don't notice them until you go to bed and see the big one on the ceiling just above you...
