actually it looks as if the fault was the crane being lifted. It appears that what broke was the supported legs it puts down when the crane is in action.
They should have attached it to the actuall crain rather then its support legs.

Agree with #12 ... thou the outriggers should have been able to carry the weight, otherwise they would collapse during liftingoperation. The crane is slowly tilting to its right, and then - ooops! ... Look at 0:53 and se how the left wire has run over, the slings with one high and one low. Appears that they where not secured, i.e. the wire could run unobstructed thru the shackle.... Again as #12 said: Faulty rigging. :(
