I don't understand the intention.
Is it to give some "cat-energy" into the store in means of esoteric?
Is it to give the cats some pleasure (I don't believe they are really happy)?
Is it some way to bring money to creative teams?
But what about customers, who are allergic against cat hair?
My opinion of Ikea doesn't change measurable.
I would expect more impressing ideas by the image I had from Ikea before.

I think it's smart :
Cats are very picky and lazy ... always picking the right spot to relax & sleep for hours.
If they invaded IKEA store, you should probably follow their example ;-)

IKEA wembley actually opened late after the weekend of filming this advert due to missing cats still around the store! It eventually opened an hour late, though I don't know if they found all the cats!

I bet the marketing person that came up with the idea is that funny smelling eccentric woman that lives in a basement apartment who wears old lady hats and has 17cats she that she refers to as her children.

is it just me, or in the near future, furniture stores won't ever be looking like nowadays ones, in respect to actually having so much space reserved for useless sets nobody would buy: and just implement the jewelry concept of ordering upon measurements, and wait couple of weeks for the delivery at your door steps
