#4 the curve is slightly banked, so when he overshot due to failing brakes he took off because the car has a completely sealed underbody which more or less turned it into an airfoil.

#13 you wouldn't use the handbrake in circuit racing, you lose too much time doing that

I think what helped him is his rear spoiler, since moving backwards creates some kind of a lift.
