He picks up the ball with a right hand between 0:48 - 0:50 and puts the ball into a holder attached behind his back. He then turns around and retreives that ball with a left hand.

He is now holding the ball in the left hand 0:50 - 0:52

He then swaps the ball from the left hand into the right hand at 0:53, knocks off the bubble and presents the ball.
And so on… :-)

The rule is to observe the hand (or the body part) that is not doing the main action and typically this is true for all "magic".
