When his red flashing light is going to be replaced by a positronic brain I'll make sure I'm out of sight.

What's up with jokes written lately on snotr comments? When has that become popular?
Anyway, put some realistic skin on it and a head and you wouldn't know he's a robot.

i don't know how far they can go with this robotic thing! but something for sure! this thing will shot died some humans in the future!
I dont understand. They make this just for testing clothes?
Will the robot "feel" its too tight or anything?
Or is just for testing the wear?
Interesting to see that this kind of robot can walk on it's own. Couple of years ago it wasnt possible. And look at it now. Amazing. Now it looks like its drunk or so but hey give it a couple of years to sober up!

Hmmm #17 walk on its own? its still attached to lots of wires coming from the facility. And while I did like the demonstration I believe the japanese are not even slightly impressed
#18 No Japanese robot walks with a natural human gait to simulate actual wear and tear on clothing . This robot sweats and changes temperature like a soldier would while wearing a chemical protection suit. It is connected by many wires and cables to supply power for days of operation and to control temps and humidity.
"PETMAN is an anthropomorphic robot for testing chemical protection clothing. Unlike previous suit testers, which had to be supported mechanically and had a limited repertoire of motion, PETMAN will balance itself and move freely; walking, crawling and doing a variety of suit-stressing calisthenics during exposure to chemical warfare agents. PETMAN will also simulate human physiology within the protective suit by controlling temperature, humidity and sweating when necessary, all to provide realistic test conditions.
Natural, agile movement is essential for PETMAN to simulate how a soldier stresses protective clothing under realistic conditions. The robot will have the shape and size of a standard human, making it the first anthropomorphic robot that moves dynamically like a real person."

I wonder how much money they wasted to build a robot to test clothes...?
