The scary part of this is that they are not out in the ocean where seeing a shark is no big surprise. They are fishing in an inland body of water that is brackish water,not salt. Bull sharks are the only species known to travel inland by using inlets and rivers, and they are man-eaters.
According to the news report these people took a 10' flat-bottom boat out and tried to net the shark. Luckily they did not succeed.
