Lol, just remove enough rails and the train de-rails. I did not even have to do experiments to come to that conclusion.

#4 Point is not to proof its possible..its to test whats needed. I first thought that first small chuck of rail would be enough to derail it...maybe thats because of my mom always told me "Dont put pennys on the rail..you will derail the train!"

If the ends of the rail on either side of the gap were not aligned I bet the 8 inch gap would have been plenty.
