Very neat, but I fear the computer screens are far too low on the desk... they should be at eye level. (He says whilst straining his next with a laptop on his lap 24/7...)
A far easier solution would be to mount the LCD's directly on the underside of the bed at a better height... no mechanism needed.
Oooh and i like these: http://www.studybed.co.uk/

#3 thanks a lot !! i just got another way to spend my free time...
for those interested to built it on your own for a lot less, go here
http://www.broadenedhorizons.com/hiddenbed-single-diy-kit
or here for the more options
http://www.broadenedhorizons.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=HiddenBed
they sell the hardware kit (hinges, pistons etc) for $325 and the plans for different models for $25
kit is a bit expensive but still it'll come out cheaper than buying the whole for $2000 for the cheapest bed
good luck to those who will try; i will !!
