The atomic bomb was justified. Thousands of more people would have died, had an invasion of the Japanese mainland taken place. None of you seem to understand the warrior/samurai code of honor the Japanese soldiers adopted. To surrender in a fight was complete disgrace. Take a look at the number of Japanese POWs taken during the war and the Kamikazes.
BTW, you Europeans hate Americans. My English teacher lived in France for a couple of years and was shocked at the attitude the French and the French media had towards America. So obviously, an incident such as Hiroshima is used against America. Also, to the poster who said "Someone once said to me that the difference between Germans and Americans is that most Germans feel some guilt over the holocaust, while most Americans view Hiroshima and Nagasaki as an accomplishment." You have clearly never lived in America.
