Awesome... great to see this kind of thing from another angle/perspective. Makes you appreciate the speed and power of these machines!!!

wow. The driver must have felt like he was being inside a movie where someone pressed the fast forward button.

I never thought drag racing was very exciting to watch unless you are right there to hear the noise and feel the thump from the engine. Just don't stand too close, you never know when something will come off. Fast.

# 2 This is an Alcohol Dragster, not Top Fuel
Methanol, also known as methyl alcohol is used in this class of vehicle.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Methanol
# 8 I have always appreciated the sport (and yes it is a sport, not just about the skills and multiple split second reactions of the drivers but also the speed and combined skills of the pit crew). Are you aware that the pit crews have to tear down and basically rebuild the engine and clutch after each pass? And as you pointed out with all the work that goes into each run down the strip, and the short amount of time to get it done, one little mistake can quickly have deadly consequences.
# 11 These teams are some of the best skilled and technical minds in their fields pushing the limit further every day to get the most out of the machines. Would you call F1 racing teams "rednecks"?
and remember, the speed limit is 325 mph

Gas is for washin' parts, alcohol is for drinkin', but nitromethane is for racin'
You haven't lived until you've stood next to 8000 hp x 2 leaving the starting line...
My wife said, "What's this black stuff all over me?" I said, "That's rubber from the tires, honey...'
