What I don't understand is why the don't require that cyclists use walkways whenever possible. Look at the damage possible. Person walking gets hit by a man on a 28 lb bike doing 20 mph, OR person on a 28 lb bike doing 20 mph gets hit by a 3800 lb car doing 50. The math speaks for itself, and yes, I've seen plenty of idiot cyclists in my time too. They are only supposed to ride two deep in staggered formation here, but you see them in 25 rider herds taking up entire lanes of traffic in the narrowest, windiest, blind corner main roads. You'd think they all had deathwishes, or some conglomerate plan to get nailed and sue themselves into disabled retirement.

#10 I think part of the reason we're immune to the homeless issue, is because most of us understand what its like to be a human, *most* of us are able to function in society, so we truly don't get people who can't. When I see a homeless person, I wonder what it is that's going on with them that makes them unable to find a job? Or, if they are disabled, why don't they have disability? If they have disability they can get SOME government funds, even if it means they have to get together with 2 other disabled people and rent a house in a bad area of town, it doesn't mean they need to be out on the street.
Don't think I'm being cruel, I was homeless at one point in my life, but I also know it was because I was being a lazy piece of shit. Granted, it was only for a few days before a family member took me in, but I had no job, not because I couldn't but because I didn't want one, being homeless for a short period of time got me off my ass.
Dogs and cats, on the other hand, don't have the option of going out to get a job, or house sharing. Hence the empathy.

Honestly, not that impressive, remember, power on stall speed for a Super Cub is a mere 38 MPH, and power off stall speed is only 43 MPH. With some modifications and a skinny pilot, these can be even lower. How fast can a typical vehicle stop, going up hill, from 38 MPH? I knew a lot of bush pilots when I lived in AK who could land and take off in an extremely short amount of ground space.

Errr. Dogs have their place, it's outside. Dogs slobber on you, piss all over the place because you walked back into the room after 5 minutes. They try to hump your leg, the furniture, any other animal stuffed or living that happens to be near by. They crap on the floor, they eat everything, and even if they crap outside, you still need to run around and pick it up. Depending on the breed, it can maul you to death.

The funny thing is, anyone who has ever played an online shooter for any length of time can completely see themselves in the position of both players, particularly the progression. #4 One way to keep Occupy protesters away would be to have wages and benefits that rise in line with increased productivity. I dunno about you, but I'm in a pretty GOOD field (medicine) and in the last 4 years I've seen one CoL raise in that time and my benefits shrinking every year, the cost of my health plan goes up, the amount of coverage goes down, and yet, I work just as hard this year as I did the year before, probably even harder as I've now got more experience. If that hasn't happened to you in whatever line of work you're in, then count yourself as lucky, for now, and if it has been your experience and you still don't get it.......

Interesting, and not saying the guy has no skills, but I'd assume to some extent it might be easier to 'drift' IE, smoke the rears, seeing as your front brake system and back brake systems are completely separate from one another on a bike, so it seems to be it's not quite as much about being in control, as it is about having a big assed set of front brakes. Of course, I could be entirely wrong..... .

The problem right now is that men have lost their role in society, which was as a provider, and it shows, look at the way we are portrayed in todays media.
Men are constantly ridiculed for being lumbering stupid beasts who do nothing but give in to their base instincts and are incapable of doing anything right. Look at any sitcom in the last 10-15 years, the stupid character is *always* a man. Women are portrayed as being able to clean the house, cook a 5 course meal, go to work and have an amazing career where the guy is lucky if they portray him as being able to properly dress himself and half the time even thats not the case. The reasoning for this is again, we've lost our traditional role in society, aside from sperm donor, women simply don't need us anymore.
The *only* thing that will correct this is when women loose their role in traditional society as well. IE caregiver and/or sex mate. Which means robots become lifelike enough to a guy that he doesn't care, OR the matrix becomes a reality and the 'girl in the red dress' becomes a real option for any man.

The yellow states sp02, (basically measuring the amount of oxygen in the blood), if its at 100 and goes to 0 the connector popped off (note the blue alarm that says 'sensor off') unless she instantaneously used up all the oxygen in her blood.

#15 I do ski, and have since I was a kid and I can honestly say that what he's doing IS a big deal. Sure, hes not doing triple backflips, but he's not coming off of a 10 meter kicker either. Given the set up he's got, he'd be hard pressed to do anything more fantastic, and it really doesn't matter anyhow as a flip with a half twist is impressive anytime. Sometimes I have to wonder if the wow factor of people's real abilities haven't been completely skewed into non-reality by a generation of Tony Hawk games. Kudos to the skier. Either Turnpike staff or police must have released the video which began running only a few days ago - a week after the crash.
The video shows a white car barreling into the toll plaza at full highway speed, running up a short bullnose and into a toll booth and bursting into flames almost immediately. The flames reach their maximum intensity within seconds.
A police car pulls up very quickly and the policeman runs towards the burning remains of the car but is helpless to do anything except watch.
The police were close by doing a truck emissions checkpoint.
The crash occurred at 8:23am May 10. The Great Egg toll plaza is a barrier plaza tolling southbound only, located at Milepost 28.8.
Bernard King, 52, a casino dealer of Middle Township in May county to the south was driving the car by himself and died in the crash and inferno. Since there is no sign of the car slowing at all the video suggests King he either suicided or was unconscious at the wheel. He was driving toward his home when he crashed and died.
Local reports said he had a history of seizures, including a seizure just three hours before his fatal crash that had him taken to a hospital.
Three toll lanes were closed after the accident.

Trust me, watching a 93 year old woman getting resuscitated again and again and watching her ribs fracture under compressions is NOT something any sane person would want to see OR witness; but under the current system, its what happens across this nation to countless numbers of people every day. An exceptionally high percentage of Medicare dollars goes towards supporting the elderly population in ICUs for the last few weeks of their life allowing things like the above to take place; these folks aren't getting better, they are merely prolonging the dying process for usually what amounts to a week or three under the threat of what occurs in this animation. If more people were made aware of this, perhaps we could save money AND let people pass in peace.

I had to do something similar at one point driving from Fairbanks to Anchorage Alaska early one morning. I clipped a moose about 100 miles south of Fairbanks at about 2AM, the hood of my Corolla was rolled back on the passenger side like a sardine can, the front bumper and grill has been been pushed in *almost* to the point where the fan had made contact with the radiator, and the A pillar on the passenger was pretty much leveled. I kicked out what remained of the windshield and drove the 200 miles back to Anchorage, and ended up driving the car to the junk yard a few days later to sell it for scrap.

Wow.....I thought this was plain as day and yet the majority of the commenters here don't see what the issue is. Yes, the guy artificially introduced a fault condition into the wires (like what might happen with a short or a sensor that's screwed up) but the only reason they did it artificially is because waiting around for it to just happen would probably take awhile....
All they did was artificially reproduce a situation that CAN and DOES happen in the real world on a fairly regular basis. I can only assume that most of the people commenting on this have never owned a car long enough to have an 02 sensor go bad, or a throttle position sensor go bad. It happens, and it happens quite frequently in real life. Granted for this demonstration they recreated the scenario, but it DOES happen. Hell, even Steve Wozniak was able to recreate a situation of unintended acceleration in the cruise control module of these vehicles that he could *reproduce at will*. He called Toyota and they ignored him. When (arguably) the worlds best electrical engineer calls you and says, there's something wrong with your software because I have an issue here that I can reproduce at will, you don't IGNORE it. Toyota made their bed, now they have to lie in it.

The only way I could see this actually being for real is if it were somehow connected to the Vagus nerve. The Vagus is the major cranial nerve related to parasympathetic response.
