It is scary that most of the buildings there are covered in a highly flammable thermoplastic material.
"One expert in the UAE has estimated that 70% of the high-rise buildings in Dubai have panel facade cladding made of a combustible thermoplastic core held between two sheets of aluminium.
When the panel ignites, fire spreads rapidly, racing to the top of the building and sending flaming debris hurtling to the streets below. "Like a Roman candle" is how one observer described it."

Yea that old myth is probably about as accurate as the one here in the States about German women not shaving their legs and pits and only bathing once a week (maybe).
For sure US beers turn to piss water a short while after being consumed,as do all beers, but many US beers are as good as any European beers and are just as high or higher in alcohol. Remember, most of the brewing techniques in America came from German,Irish and other European Brewmeisters that immigrated to America long ago.
The average Bud,Coors,Miller and others are beers meant to be able to be drank all day long, like at a race or ball game. You damn sure can't guzzle Samuel Adams Utopia all day (29%) without falling down. But that is my opinion. Personally I prefer Belgium Ales and German Eisbocks the most.

35. sux2bu 57 days ago on video Brutal Self Inflicted Nutshot
What deep thinkers we men are...
I mowed the lawn today, and after doing so I sat down and had a cold beer.
The day was really quite beautiful, and the drink facilitated some deep thinking on various topics.
Finally I thought about an age old question:
Is giving birth more painful than getting kicked in the nuts?
Women always maintain that giving birth is way more painful than a guy getting kicked in the nuts.
Well, after another beer, and some heavy deductive thinking, I have come up with the answer to that question.
Getting kicked in the nuts IS more painful than having a baby; and here is the reason for my conclusion.
A year or so after giving birth, a woman will often say, "It might be nice to have another child."
On the other hand, you never hear a guy say, "You know, I think I would like another kick in the nuts."
I rest my case. Time for another beer.

Werner von Braun was a genius no doubt, but he achieved his greatest works after choosing to surrender to the Americans and then working in a free country.
" On May 2,1945, upon finding an American private from the U.S. 44th Infantry Division, von Braun's brother and fellow rocket engineer, Magnus, approached the soldier on a bicycle, calling out in broken English: "My name is Magnus von Braun. My brother invented the V-2. We want to surrender." After the surrender, von Braun spoke to the press:
"We knew that we had created a new means of warfare, and the question as to what nation, to what victorious nation we were willing to entrust this brainchild of ours was a moral decision more than anything else. We wanted to see the world spared another conflict such as Germany had just been through, and we felt that only by surrendering such a weapon to people who are guided by the Bible could such an assurance to the world be best secured.”

53. sux2bu 84 days ago on video A soccer ball that never wears out!
#13 #14 #15 In your haste to revile the "rich" you have missed the whole intention of the One World Futbol Project. These balls are not meant to be sold to poor kids in poor countries, they are intended to be purchased by companies or individuals just like you and me and then given to organizations that distribute them around the world. I see on the Wiki link that Chevy donated one and a half million balls.
One World Futbol Project sells the One World Futbol directly to institutions, companies and non-profit organizations, as well as to individual consumers through a “Buy One Give One” model. For every ball bought by individuals at retail, the company donates a second ball to organizations working with disadvantaged communities around the world. One World Futbol Project distributes balls through a growing network of organizations serving youth in harsh environments around the world, including refugee camps, conflict zones, disaster areas, inner cities, and other disadvantaged communities. You can even opt to have the ball you bought be donated too if you have no need for the ball.
This is a great organization which should be a model for other charitable groups.

Four simple rules of gun safety:
1) All guns are always loaded. Even if they are not, treat them as if they are.
2) Never let the muzzle point at anything you are not willing to destroy.
3) Keep your finger off the trigger till your sights are on the target.
4) Identify your target, and what is behind it.

#17 The US Olympic women's team plays better than even your men's soccer teams.
As for the word "soccer",it is a term that was coined by the English as a slang name for "association football". Americans did not name it that, but we like that name.
From wiki:
The rules of association football were codified in England by the Football Association in 1863 and the name association football was coined to distinguish the game from the other forms of football played at the time, specifically rugby football. The term soccer originated in England, first appearing in the 1880s as an Oxford "-er" abbreviation of the word "association".
Within the English-speaking world, association football is now usually called football (colloquially footy or footer and occasionally soccer as used in older generations) in the United Kingdom, and mainly soccer in Canada and the United States. Other countries, such as Australia and New Zealand may use either or both terms, and may also have local names for the sport.

106. sux2bu 186 days ago on video This player was tired of getting hit while running with the football.
Rugby is a contact sport....the NFL is a collision sport where full-speed head-on tackles and blocks are made by many players on the field, not just the arm or leg tackle of the ball-carrier allowed by Rugby rules. If a 240 lb NFL linebacker made a hit on one of those Rugby players, that player would never play again,at least not until after a long recovery in the hospital.
Rugby rules:
A player must not tackle (or try to tackle) an opponent above the
line of the shoulders. A tackle around the opponents neck or head
is dangerous play.
A ‘stiff-arm tackle’ is dangerous play. A player makes a stiff-arm
tackle when using a stiff-arm to strike an opponent.
Note: unlike USA Football the only player that can be tackled legally is the player actually holding the ball. There is no blocking in rugby either.
The "head-high" tackle is probably the most strictly enforced foul play rule. You will see ref's letting the odd punch or late tackle go but the "head-high" is always going to get a penalty, even if the running player ducks into the tackle.
There are Rugby teams in the US,and as far as soccer goes, you might have noticed the US women dominate the Olympics. It is more of a women's type of game.

Dog lover- JOKE OF THE DAY!
A woman, whose dog was female and "in heat', agreed
to look after her neighbor's male dog while the neighbors were on vacation.
She had a large house and believed that she could keep the two dogs apart.
However, as she was drifting off to sleep she heard awful howling and
moaning sounds, rushed downstairs and found the dogs locked together, in
obvious pain and unable to disengage,as so frequently happens when dogs
mate.
Unable to separate them, and unsure of what to do next, even though it
was late, she called the vet, who answered in a very grumpy voice.
Having explained the problem to him,the vet said,
"Hang up the phone and place it down alongside the dogs. I will then
call you back and the noise of the ringing will make the male lose his
erection and he will be able to withdraw."
"Do you think that will work?" she asked.
"Well it just worked on me," he replied. ![]()

While vehicles in space go much faster than supersonic vehicles travel through the air, you can't really call this "breaking the sound barrier," because that term really means, going faster than the LOCAL speed of sound. Since there's no sound in space,(since there is no medium of air) there isn't any local speed of sound there, so the phrase "breaking the sound barrier" doesn't really apply in space.

#16 There never was a Palestinian people or a nation called Palestine. The Arabs invented the term after the fact. The so-called Palestinians lived mostly in Jordan and Syria. Yasser Arafat, the leader of the so-called “Palestinians,” was actually an Egyptian!
Back on March 31, 1977, the Dutch newspaper "Trouw" published an interview it had with Palestine Liberation Organization executive committee member Zahir Muhsein. This is what he had to say:
"The Palestinian people does not exist. The creation of a Palestinian state is only a means for continuing our struggle against the state of Israel for our Arab unity. In reality today there is no difference between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese. Only for political and tactical reasons do we speak today about the existence of a Palestinian people, since Arab national interests demand that we posit the existence of a distinct 'Palestinian people' to oppose Zionism."
Israel's claim to that land historically goes back thousands of years.

After experiencing the discomfort and embarrassment of a colonoscopy in Virginia, I decided to have my next one carried out while visiting friends in San Francisco, where the California nurses are allegedly much more gentle and accommodating...not to mention attractive.
As I lay naked on my side on the table, a very gorgeous nurse came in and began my procedure.
"Don't worry, at this stage of the procedure it's quite normal to have an erection," the nurse told me in sexy whisper.
"I haven't got an erection," I replied.

The fallacy in this vid is the premise that Christians just "exist" waiting for the afterlife. So many of the good and kind acts in this world happen because Christians care about their fellow man, while atheists just live for themselves and the day.
If Christians are wrong in their beliefs , then they have lost nothing when they die. If atheists are wrong, they have lost everything.
Everything in the universe did not come from nothing, some greater power must have been involved. I do not know exactly what it was,and I probably could not even fathom it,but I think there is more to life than just 'live for today' and then die.

#19 What is defined as "violent crime"? This should clear up your doubts:
Canada:
Canada classifies homicides, attempted murder, all assaults, all sexual offences, abduction and robbery as violent crime.
New Zealand:
New Zealand's crime statistics has a category for violence that includes homicides, kidnapping, abduction, robbery, assaults, intimidation, threats, and group assembly, while all sexual offences are shown in a separate category from violence.
United Kingdom:
Violent crime statistics in the UK includes all violence against the person, sexual offences, and robbery as violent crime.

The U.S. has a violence rate of 466 crimes per 100,000 residents, Canada 935, South Africa 1,609, but the UK is at 1,158,957 per 100,000 residents.Surprised? This grandpa did the right thing. Giving thumbs down just shows your ignorance. You know who you are.

#24 The younger Brits on this site probably were never taught about THE AMERICAN COMMITTEE FOR DEFENSE OF BRITISH HOMES in 1940 when England was in fear and peril of being invaded by the Nazis. The call went out for Americans to donate rifles, shotguns, and handguns to be shipped to England so civilians and the Home Guard could try to repel an invading hoard of Germans.Thousands of guns were donated and shipped to England.
Winston Churchill wrote in Their Finest Hour: "When the ships from America approached our shores with their priceless arms, special trains were waiting in all ports to receive their cargoes. The Home Guard in every county, in every village, sat up through the night to receive them. ... By the end of July we were an armed nation ... ."'
The sad thing is that after the war England gathered all those weapons and dumped them in the North Sea.

#17 The question by #11 was "#1 where is Romania in your list????"
Romania was not part of the Allies, period.
Romania foolishly allied itself with Hitler as a buffer against the Soviets and was then *conquered* by the Nazis, which is how Hitler did things;he did not honor any treaties that he made. Just ask the British or the Soviets how much a treaty with Germany was worth in those years.
"As early as 1937, Romania had come under the control of a fascist government that bore great resemblance to that of Germany's, including similar anti-Jewish laws. Romania's king, Carol II, dissolved the government a year later because of a failing economy and installed Romania's Orthodox Patriarch as prime minister. But the Patriarch's death and a peasant uprising provoked renewed agitation by the fascist Iron Guard paramilitary organization, which sought to impose order. In June 1940, the Soviet Union co-opted two Romanian provinces, and the king searched for an ally to help protect it and appease the far right within its own borders. So on July 5, 1940, Romania allied itself with Nazi Germany-only to be invaded by its "ally" as part of Hitler's strategy to create one huge eastern front against the Soviet Union." [history.com]

#11 The list is of the countries that joined the Allies , not the ones that fought against them. Romania joined with the Axis powers on Nov.23,1940. Duh...
"As a member of the Axis, Romania joined the invasion of the Soviet Union on 22 June 1941, providing equipment and oil to Nazi Germany as well as committing more troops to the Eastern Front than all the other allies of Germany combined. Romanian forces played a large role during the fighting in Ukraine, Bessarabia, Stalingrad, and elsewhere. In addition, Romanian troops were responsible for the persecution and massacre of 280,000 to 380,000 Jews inside and outside of Romania, though most Jews living within Romanian borders survived the Holocaust, albeit under harsh conditions." ALERTS TO THREATS IN EUROPE: BY JOHN CLEESE...
The English are feeling the pinch in relation to recent events in Syria and have therefore raised their security level from "Miffed" to "Peeved." Soon, though, security levels may be raised yet again to "Irritated" or even "A Bit Cross." The English have not been "A Bit Cross" since the blitz in 1940 when tea supplies nearly ran out. Terrorists have been re-categorized from "Tiresome" to "A Bloody Nuisance." The last time the British issued a "Bloody Nuisance" warning level was in 1588, when threatened by the Spanish Armada.
The Scots have raised their threat level from "Pissed Off" to "Let's get the Bastards." They don't have any other levels. This is the reason they have been used on the front line of the British army for the last 300 years.
The French government announced yesterday that it has raised its terror alert level from "Run" to "Hide." The only two higher levels in France are "Collaborate" and "Surrender." The rise was precipitated by a recent fire that destroyed France's white flag factory, effectively paralyzing the country's military capability.
Italy has increased the alert level from "Shout Loudly and Excitedly" to "Elaborate Military Posturing." Two more levels remain: "Ineffective Combat Operations" and "Change Sides."
The Germans have increased their alert state from "Disdainful Arrogance" to Dress in Uniform and Sing Marching Songs." They also have two higher levels: "Invade a Neighbor" and "Lose."
The Spanish are all excited to see their new submarines ready to deploy. These beautifully designed subs have glass bottoms so the new Spanish navy can get a really good look at the old Spanish navy.
A final thought - "Greece is collapsing, the Iranians (Persians) are getting aggressive, and Rome is in disarray. Welcome back to 430 BC"...

I have two of them myself ; an Egyptian Maadi ARM and a Norinco MAK-90,but they are not considered 'the real thing'. Many non-Americans hear about AK's being sold to the public in the US and imagine full-auto types are everywhere when they are only AK clones in semi-auto, not much different from a typical hunting rifle and not as powerful as most deer guns.
There is more to getting full auto than just paying for the $200.00 tax stamp.Extensive criminal background checks are performed and you give up some of your personal privacy since the weapon must be registered with the ATF. It isn't worth it to me. Plus firing full auto is EXPENSIVE. The Ingram MAC-10 I once had would go thru 50 rounds of .45 cal. in under two seconds. Too rich for my blood. ![]()

You said "This was a bad plan, started under Bush",no, Bush's plan was called Wide Receiver and it ended in 2007 (two years before Obama's plan) when it was deemed a failure. In Bush's plan the guns had RFID chips implanted in them and they were actively tracked and gun traffickers were arrested, unlike the ATF plan where there was NO tracking. And Bush's operation, Wide Receiver, did not result in the death of a U.S. Border Patrol agent or an Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officer and hundreds of Mexicans..... Fast and Furious did. Gun-walking is what happened in Fast and Furious, where ATF agents ALLOWED to be sold thousands of guns without a reliable way to track or recover them, apparently just hoping for the best.
Plus, under Bush, the Mexican government was kept fully informed of the operation, whereas under Obama they were not told of the operation.

FYI
There is no national US sales tax on goods purchased.Remember, each US state is about the size of most European countries, and sales tax is the province of the individual 50 states, and they are each in control of how much,if any ,sales tax is charged. Many states have no sales tax at all while others do. Most states do not charge tax on groceries or precription medicine and over the counter medications. The highest sales tax in the US is of course in California at around 7.25%.In my state of Virginia the sales tax is 5%, but groceries and medicines are almost tax free.

383. sux2bu 1 year ago on video Underwater Missile Launch
About the missile.....FYI
RPK-6/-7 (SS-N-16 'Stallion'/(86R, 88R and 100RU Vodopad/Veder) (Russian Federation), Offensive weapons
Type
Short-range, ship- or submarine-launched, solid-propellant, single-warhead, anti-submarine missiles.
Development
Little is known about the development of the RPK-6/-7 missile systems. RPK-6 reportedly entered service with the Russian Navy in 1981 and was believed to be a further development of the RPK-2 (SS-N-15 'Starfish'), in order to produce a torpedo delivery weapon similar to the US Anti-Submarine Rocket (ASROC), but fired from ships and submerged submarines. It is reported that other Russian designators for the system were 86R (RPK-6) Vodopad/Veder, for an improved version 88R (RPK-7) Vodopad/Veder, and for the latest version 100RU Vodopad/Veder. The NATO designator was SS-N-16 'Stallion'. The RPK-6/-7 missiles are believed to have been deployed in Typhoon (Akula, Project 941), Delta 4 (Delfin, Project 667BDRM) Oscar 1/2 (Antyey, Project 949), Victor 2/3 (Schuka, Project 671), Sierra 1/2 (Kondor, Project 945) and Akula 1/2 (Bars, Project 971)-class submarines. The missiles can also be launched from surface ships and were fitted to Kirov (Orlan, Project 1144)-class battle cruisers, Udaloy 2 (Fregat, Project 1155.1)-class destroyers and Neutrashimy (Jastreb, Project 1154)-class frigates with six missiles per ship. It is estimated that each submarine is allocated an average of four Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) weapons, either RPK-2 (SS-N-15) or RPK-6/-7.

#12 Ahh hello, maybe you do not see the difference between soldiers lining up tens of thousands of "inferior" people and machine-gunning them into trenches or gassing them vs dropping two bombs to END a horrible war,but most historians believe that millions of lives were spared because of those two bombs. Even after the second bomb military leaders in Japan did not want to surrender and twice tried to assassinate Hirohito for favoring surrender. All the civilians were commited to fighting to the last man, woman and child if Allied forces landed on the main Japanese islands. Some 28,000,000 men and women were considered “combat capable” by the end of June 1945,ready to defend their island in a war of attrition.Plus the military was under orders to execute all Allied POW's if they were invaded. Nuff said..

This means that the remaining 77% are caused by assholes who drink bottled water, Starbucks coffee, soda, juice, energy drinks, and shit like that.
Therefore, beware of those who do not drink alcohol. They cause three times as many accidents.

509. sux2bu 1 year ago on video Beagles experience sun and grass for the first time
Here is a test done on monkeys.......
If you start with a cage containing five monkeys and inside the cage,
hang a banana on a string from the top and then you place a set of stairs
under the banana, before long a monkey will go to the stairs and climb toward the banana.
As soon as he touches the stairs, you spray all the other monkeys
with cold water. After a while another monkey makes an attempt with
same result ... all the other monkeys are sprayed with cold water.
Pretty soon when another monkey tries to climb the stairs, the
other monkeys will try to prevent it.
Now, put the cold water away.
Remove one monkey from the cage and replace it with a new one.
The new monkey sees the banana and attempts to climb the stairs.
To his shock, all of the other monkeys beat the crap out of him.
After another attempt and attack, he knows that if he tries to climb the stairs he will be assaulted.
Next, remove another of the original five monkeys, replacing it
with a new one. The newcomer goes to the stairs and is attacked.
The previous newcomer takes part in the punishment... with enthusiasm.
Then, replace a third original monkey with a new one, followed by
a fourth, then the fifth. Every time the newest monkey takes to
the stairs he is attacked. Most of the monkeys that are beating
him up have no idea why they were not permitted to climb the stairs.
Neither do they know why they are participating in the beating of the newest monkey.
Finally, having replaced all of the original monkeys, none of
the remaining monkeys will have ever been sprayed with cold
water. Nevertheless, none of the monkeys will try to climb
the stairway for the banana.
Why, you ask?
Because in their minds..........that is the way it has always been!

The bacteria used is sealed in pellets along with its "food" and mixed into the concrete mix.Only when tiny cracks form in the concrete – breaking open the pellets – and water seeps inside will the bacteria activate and begin to consume the food that has also been freed. As they feed, they combine the calcium with oxygen and carbon dioxide to form calcite – essentially pure limestone. It is more of a water sealant than a structual repair since limestone is not as hard as concrete, but it keeps water from entering surface cracks and damaging steel reinforcement in the structure. It also prevents water from entering cracks and then freezing in cold weather which causes much damage and spalling of the concrete.

#11 You have it exactly backwards. World superbike requires more muscle to handle the bike since they do not use traction control and anti-wheelie control. This difference makes WSB much more entertaining for the fans and more fun for the riders. Rossi has loudly complained about all the electronic controls on moto gp bikes and would like the rules changed to give the riders more control of the bike.He is looking at eventually going to WSB.
Moto gp and WSB engines develop about the same horsepower (220 hp) but the superbikes are a bit heavier. On some tracks a superbike will turn times within two seconds of a moto gp bike,so they are very close.
Here is a good read on the comparison.

#3 Here is how it works....
In exchange for advertisements on the website, various sponsors donate the money necessary to pay for the rice and other costs to run Freerice. The creator of this program donated the website to WPF after its second year of operation so now the donations are distributed by the United Nations's World Food Program ,starting with Bangladesh. Freerice's partner is the Berkman Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University. The most common countries receiving rice are Bangladesh, Cambodia, Bhutan, Uganda, and Nepal, even though Freerice can travel all over the world (as of early 2008). By this time, the site's creator (John Breen) had given over $213,000 US to the WFP which encourages people to visit freerice.com.
This will not end all the suffering but it will alleviate some of it to an extent. I am going to send some more rice as soon as I sign off from snotr.

There is virtually no difference in the skill level between moto gp and superbike. In moto gp the bikes are purpose built for racing and are not available to the public ,while superbike bikes are production models that have been modified for racing.
Rossi's current team mate Nicky Hayden raced and won the championship in superbike and then switched to moto gp and bested Rossi to win the championship in 2006.

Many years ago while repairing the super coolers on a German fishing fleet 'mother ship' called the "Seafreeze Atlantic" I was given a beer by the ship's captain. Renault and Ford have joined forces to create the perfect economy car for women.
Combining the Renault 'Clio' and the Ford 'Taurus' they have designed the 'Clitaurus'. It comes in pink, and the average male car thief won't be able to find it — let alone turn it on – even if someone tells him where it is and how to do it.
Rumor has it though, that it leaks transmission fluid once a month which causes it to be a real bitch to start in the morning!
New models are initially fun to own, but very expensive to maintain and horribly expensive to get rid of. Used models may initially have curb appeal (low price) but eventually have an increased appetite for fuel and the curb weight typically increases with age.

#10 I do not know why you think you have to explain what #8 said but you missed the point. He thinks F1 race cars have windshields/canopies when they do not....they are open cockpit cars with no protection for the driver in the event of a tire or other debris hitting his head area. And if they had selected the first polycarbonate canopy without testing it first then a death would probably have occurred from that mistake. After seeing the polycarbonate shield shatter upon impact it looks like testing the fighter jet canopy was the common sense way to go.
@ #11 He again asserts that F1 cars have windshields...."Oh, yeah, right, saving lives requires testing fighter jet canopy against F1 car windshield."

I guess you are one of those brainless types who never let the FACTS get in the way of making your mind up about anything. Almost all of Iraq's oil has been getting sold on the open market for years and it is the Chinese who have been buying it up. Now BP has joined in to reap some benifits from the NATO takeover of Iraq. Everyone is scrambling to get contracts there but the US has been a minor player so far. The US does not try to steal other country's resources, that is more like what England did when they invaded India so England could control the cotton trade.
